A temperature-monitoring system is no longer an optional extra but rather a standard specification item for temperature-controlled transport.

The legislation at a glance:Perishable food transport and HACCP regulation
The hygiene regulations require companies to follow food safety standards known as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). It is internationally recognized and recommended standard for food safety management, which requires that the companies keep records of their supplies and processes throughout the food supply chain.HACCP requirements applied in transportation/retail and distribution
The receiving of potentially hazardous refrigerated foods has been identified as one of our food safety control points. These loads require temperature recorders to verify proper refrigerated temperatures were maintained during transit. These recorders are inspected as one of the criteria for accepting or rejecting the load.It is essential that potentially hazardous foods must be properly cooled during transportation, storage and distribution in order to achieve food safety. Proper control must be maintained during transportation and storage from the food processing plant to the retailer outlet or food service establishments.
